Applied plant tissue culture and water culture education completed

As part of the ziraatBİYOTEK project with TR21/16/KÖA/0006 reference number funded by the  Small-Scale Infrastructure Financial Support Program of Trakya Development Trakya Development  Agency was organized “Applied Plant Tissue Culture and Water Culture Education" a free education  between May 28 and June 1, 2018 in the Agricultural Biotechnology Department of Agricultural Faculty.Project coordinator of the Faculty of Agricultural Biotechnology. Assist. Prof. Dr. Sefer DEMIRBAS, assistant project coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Sheida DANESHVAR and project staff Research Assist. E. Ceren PEHLIVAN educated the participants on the first day with a theoretical and practical education on “Water Culture Techniques".

On the second and third days of the education, the theoretical and practical education on “Plant Tissue Culture Techniques" continued in the application and research laboratories of Agricultural Biotechnology Department. In the course of the education, the participants have the opportunity to apply water culture and tissue culture techniques individually.

On the fourth day of the education, information about the transfer of the plants grown in Tissue culture environment to the external environment conditions and the process of adaptation to environmental conditions were given. A general evaluation of the participants' education was conducted after the general condition of the plants left to grow on the same day using the Water Culture Technique was checked.

On the last day of the education, the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Ahmet ISTANBULLUOGLU, Chairman of Agricultural Biotechnology Department Prof. Dr. Sezen ARAT and Assist. Prof. Plant Biotechnology Department Chairman Behiye Banu BILGEN participated in the education and then the certificates were given.

Following the certificate ceremony, Tekirdağ Namik Kemal University Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman SIMSEK, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ahmet ISTANBULLUOGLU, General Secretary of Trakya Development Agency Mahmut ŞAHIN, Chairman of Agricultural Biotechnology Department, Prof. Dr. Sezen ARAT, Head of NKU Construction Works and Technical Department, Duran ANARAT,  ZiraatBIYOTEK Project Laboratory building in Tekirdağ province Naip Neighbourhood by the delegation consisting of educations teams and participants, including Merve GUNES, Project Monitoring and Evaluation Unit Expert, the education was completed by carrying out a technical visit to evaluate in place.
